Other vaccinations:
Lyme Disease: Recommended
in high-risk areas – we do not currently feel that the Rocky Mountain
region is High Risk. Traveling with your pet may put your pet at risk for
Lyme disease. Our staff will assess the risk factor to recommend this
vaccination.
Giardia: A new vaccine has been developed to protect against this protozoa that causing severe intestinal signs. This vaccine may be warranted for pets that go hiking with you or that are boarded frequently.
Comprehensive Physical
Examination:
Your pet’s protection against the deadly diseases is very important for their long, happy and healthy life. We, at Animal Hospital, combine your pet’s annual comprehensive physical exam with your pet’s annual vaccinations. We, also, complete the same exams on growing puppies during the puppy series vaccination to assure that your young pet is growing up healthy and disease free. Pets age much faster than us, so the importance of regular thorough physical exams cannot be overemphasized. Whether or not annual vaccinations are done for your pet – the annual comprehensive physical exam should be routine!
Canine Parovirus Plus: We administer the combination protection against the deadly disease "parvovirus". Pfizer Animal Health has developed a separate parvovirus fraction that is specifically able to develop protection at the your age of 8 to 12 weeks called Parvo Plus. At this early age, a puppy is particularly susceptible as it loses whatever maternal protection that it had from it's first day of life. We feel Parvo Plus is an exceptional product and, if fact, use Parvo Plus in all canine vaccinations to protect against "parvo" throughout your dog's life.
